Call of Duty: Ghosts has now been officially announced for 5 November. The game will be released for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC and “next-generation hardware”.
It will tell a new story with an entirely new cast and is meant to offer a fresh gameplay experience. The underlying engine has changed as well, although all we know so far is that it is described as a “next-generation engine”. A teaser trailer has also been published.
More material is expected during Microsoft’s Xbox event on 21 May, broadcast via Xbox.com, Xbox Live and Spike TV. That is where we will probably learn more details about the game itself.
The big question is whether the publisher will take the same approach as with Black Ops II: centrally managed servers and no way for communities to control their own. Hopefully this time we will be given control over the way we play.
